music isn't selling the way it used to.

so do you think the music that is selling is getting to the people that matter?

if so what happened to the people who just 10 years ago were helping records go platinum several times, even diamond in some cases.

why did we stop buying music? did the quality of music go down so tremendously that we just stopped paying for it? did the prices get outrageously high where we had to say, 'i cant afford it, im not paying for it but i'll illegally download it' ...is the support of the artist important or is it more important to just have the music?

buying music not only helps the artist earn money but it keeps them where they are in their career and allows them to keep going forward and have other opportunities in the industry.

also: are live shows way more important than the cd?

think of your absolute favorite artist: what if not buying their music meant they could no longer play bigger shows or they get dropped from their label (which is happening a TON, i dont know if you guys even know that)

why not support the legal download? everyone is doing everything to make the music readily available to us LEGALLY and its super cheap. One song is .99cent.

and im one of the few people left who actually enjoys buying a CD!

i dont even know whats going on anymore, i want to support music!!! we all love it and need it to survive....bands like all time low and whatever, all those indie bands we thought were 'our little secret' getting on mtv is really a milestone, guys. its not sellouty, its sicknasty to the fullest. i support it! i support the exposition and promotion of good music, it might get people interested and thats a good thing.

btw be a nerd with me and read this: http://en. wikipedia. org/wiki/RIAA_certification#Records

IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR HELPING BRITNEY SPEARS, NSYNC OR LINKIN PARK GO DIAMOND ONLY SEVERAL YEARS AGO*, BUT YOU NO LONGER REALLY BUY CDS, SPEAK UP! TELL ME WHY PEOPLE FROM OUR GENERATION ARE OBVIOUSLY NO LONGER BUYING MUSIC!

*I will readily raise my hand because YES, I was totally one of the at least 10 million people who purchased Nsync and Britney albums. And to this day, I still purchase music if I love it. I enjoy having the cd and the booklet. Something about it makes me happy and I'm in love with that feeling of listening to a CD by someone I really enjoy for the first time.

Love Erica
